others use only glass, metal or plastic syringes. Volumes start from few microlitres to over 150 millilitres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is it possible to satisfy everybody with just a single syringe pump?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With our new VIT-FIT syringe pump we have tried to solve just this problem.<\/p>\n<p>Our new syringe fixing system allows\u00a0<strong>almost any syringe to be used<\/strong>, from micro syringes to large volume syringes,\u00a0<strong>without the use of an adapter<\/strong>. The syringe is tightly held in both directions \u2013 infusion and filling.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the handling of the syringes is very easy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Construction advantages and properties of the VIT-FIT (HP) syringe pumps<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lambda-instruments.com\/syringe-pump\/user-manual\/1-setting-up-the-syringe-pump\/#parts-of-syringe-pump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Construction advantages of the VIT-FIT and VIT-FIT HP syringe pumps for high-pressure and high-speed laboratory applications\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lambda-instruments.com\/fileadmin\/user_upload\/Syringe_pump_operation_manual\/Construction_advantages_of_the_VIT-FIT_programmable_lab_syringe_pump.PNG\" alt=\"Construction advantages of the VIT-FIT and VIT-FIT HP laboratory syringe pumps\" width=\"700\" height=\"420\" data-htmlarea-file-uid=\"386\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Precision mechanics for pulse-free operation<\/h3>\n<p>To move the pusher of the VIT-FIT syringe pumps and the VIT-FIT HP high-pressure syringe pumps, we have selected a\u00a0<strong>Swiss made motor<\/strong>\u00a0which uses new technology to ensure\u00a0<strong>very high torque and ten times longer lifetime<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For the transformation of the rotation into a linear movement required for pushing the syringe plunger, we have introduced the\u00a0<strong>Swiss made ball screws with highest mechanical load capacity<\/strong>. This is an expensive component in our instrument, but it offers decisive advantages to the user in terms of efficiency and mechanical yield\/force of the system. This is crucial for a\u00a0<strong>pulsation-free operation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Metal chassis and\u00a0protection<\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>precise mechanics is protected<\/strong>\u00a0in the instrument casing and the\u00a0<strong>pusher arm does not reach out from one side<\/strong>\u00a0(as it is usual with existing syringe pumps), but is integrated into the rear of the instrument.<\/p>\n<p>The casing and the main body of the syringe pump are made of metal with\u00a0<strong>solvent resistant protection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Programming flow\u00a0profile (infusion and filling)<\/h3>\n<p>The microprocessor electronics allow control of the activity of the syringe pump in an easy but effective way. The movement of the new brushless neodymium magnet motor is constantly under the control of the microprocessor, which corrects immediately any deviation from the preset speed.<\/p>\n<p>Up to\u00a0<strong>99 program steps<\/strong>\u00a0can be memorized by the processor. The syringe pump can be programmed in both directions &#8211; delivery (infusion) and filling, locally on the syringe pump control display.<\/p>\n<p>The program can be\u00a0<strong>repeated<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>1 to 99 cycles or endlessly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Constant flow rate:<\/strong>\u00a0In this standard application of the syringe pump \u2013 the flow rate will be kept constant during the pre-selected time period<\/li>\n<li><strong>Profile:<\/strong>\u00a0Permits varying flow rates to be pre-programmed (including exponentially increasing flow rate as used for e.g. in feeding cultures during fermentation, etc.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Increment:<\/strong>\u00a0Stepwise increase of the flow rate over time (to make gradients)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Decrement:<\/strong>\u00a0Stepwise decrease of the flow rate<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pause:<\/strong>\u00a0Stops the syringe pump for a specified time before going on to the next step<\/li>\n<li><strong>Timer:<\/strong>\u00a0By programming a required time interval with zero flow rate as the first step before the program the syringe pump can be automatically switched on or off<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stop:<\/strong>\u00a0Stops the syringe pump after the program has finished.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Safe switching power supply<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>As the mechanical losses are so small, we can use a miniature plug-integrated switching power supply using line voltages (from 95 to 240 V AC, 50\/60 Hz).<\/p>\n<p>During\u00a0<strong>field application<\/strong>\u00a0the syringe pump can be powered by a 12 V accumulator or a 12 V battery.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Automatic switch\u00a0OFF<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The motor of the syringe pump will be\u00a0<strong>switched off automatically<\/strong>\u00a0when the\u00a0<strong>syringe is empty<\/strong>\u00a0or has been\u00a0<strong>refilled<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Remote control (analog and digital)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Several remote control possibilities of the syringe pump are available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Simple\u00a0<strong>ON\/OFF<\/strong>\u00a0(with a 3 to 12 V DC signal or higher with resistor)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Progressive<\/strong>\u00a0speed control over the\u00a0<strong>whole range signal<\/strong>\u00a00 to 10 V DC, (0 to 20 or 4 to 20 mA option)<\/li>\n<li><strong>RS-485 or RS-232 interface<\/strong>\u00a0(option) for communication with a PC or similar device<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Speed selection \/ syringe calibration<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>To be able to fit the many types of syringes used, the speed selection is made using speed numbers corresponding to the velocity of the rotation of the motor.<\/p>\n<p>The selected syringe has to be calibrated. This means that the\u00a0<strong>motor speed setting<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(000 to 999)<\/em>\u00a0has to be put into relation with the\u00a0<strong>delivered volume as a function of time<\/strong>\u00a0(flow rate).
